[Aspell-user] change location of .aspell.XX.prepl files

Hello,

by default, the custom dictionary files are being created in:

$HOME/.aspell.XX.prepl

I find this very unfortunate. There are much better places where to
store custom dictionaries, maybe in ~/.local/share/ or even in
~/.config/ or anything that is not directly in $HOME/

Is there any simple way to configure another location than
~/.aspell.XX.prepl ?

Would you please consider, for future releases, moving the default
location somewhere else?

thanks,

Yes, set "home-dir" to something else. See the Aspell manual for how to
change settings. Also use "aspell dump config" to get a listing of all
configuration variables.

I might. If you want you file an issue at
https://github.com/gnuaspell/aspell.
